It was under Ms Zone's careful and meticulous review of LDAO's financial records...

that the Board was informed that the organization was in serious financial trouble and at risk of collapse. Soon after, the organization's executive director resigned. Without an executive director, and
with a huge debt, the Board set out a 6 month plan to try to save LDAO. During that time, Ms
Zone's financial wisdom, tight control of day to day spending and loyalty to the organization
became invaluable to the Board. Her forensic review of LDAO's financial records and her
restructuring of liabilities impressed not only our Board members, but also creditors, including
the provincial government. In the end, LDAO resolved its financial crisis and has since
continued in its role supporting Ontario citizens with learning disabilities. Much of the credit for
this must go to Ms Zone.
It is within this context, that I feel very confident to write this letter of reference for Ms. Cynthia
Zone. Her financial knowledge and diligence to detail is beyond reproach. Her insight into
organizational management and her ability to exercise creative problem solving skills in a crisis
situation were very evident during LDAO's financial and organization crisis. As well, her ability
to collaborate, to mentor and to lead was evident while I was chairperson at LDAO. In summary,
her business and organizational sense are first rate.
I highly recommend Ms Cynthia Zone and feel she would excel at any pursuit.
